It was a perfect weekend (well, maybe not perfect, but pretty darn close). The morning started off with coffee and tea...that's how any perfect day starts out for me.
After breakfast, which was lovingly prepared by the camp staff, lunch fixings were set out for us to prepare a picnic lunch.
Below is a photo of my eldest daughter and her friend Catherine. Catherine and Amanda met when they were only two years old and they are still dear friends today.
Below is another one of my daughter's friends, Sarah, and Sarah's daughter Mary.
There was plenty of time to play ping pong...
or, if you preferred, tether ball. Remember tether ball? Tether ball has been around since before I was born, as far as I know, and that's a very long time!
We took our lunches and off we went. Poor Amanda slipped on the rocks and landed on her bum. Poor baby, spent the rest of the weekend reclining with ice on her leg, but if you had to fall can you think of a prettier place to land?
Sweet girl, she even smiled for me with dirt on her face. Fortunately, she brought her knitting with her, so she made good use of the time.
She was just trying to get close enough to get a photo of the kids swimming in the pond.
Once we got back to camp, Amanda kept on knitting while icing her leg.
The kids played.
The kids stopped playing cards long enough to smile for the camera.
We had s'mores and sat by the fire.
It was a wonderful memory making weekend!

In my opinion, there is absolutely NOTHING like camp.
I love summer camp! How lucky that you got to go. And in the redwoods is the best.
Oh I adore church camps..this looked amazing my friend! We did not get to one this year...one in the redwoods would be Heaven! Hugs for a great rest of your week. ox
