A week of wedding fun

Mr. Honey's brother waits for his bride to arrive for the ceremony, dressed in a white linen suit, smiling from ear to ear.This shot was taken with the father and mother of the bride looking on. The wedding was an intimate group of about twenty family members and a couple of the brides close friends.

Mr. Honey says a few words to his brother and his new wife. He did a great job, if I do say so myself.

The wedding cake was a tiered cake of delicious appetisers with a blue sky background of romance.

Wedding weekend

Mr. Honey and I are in the Florida Keys for Mr. Honey's brothers wedding. There will be more photos coming. We are having a fabulous time sailing and getting some much needed r&r.

To My Valentine

Thirty seven years ago this past Sunday Mr. Honey and I got engaged and a month later we walked down the isle together on St. Patrick's Day.

I couldn't post this photo on Valentine's Day, like I wanted to, because, I don't have a clue how to use our new printer.

There I am, in an off the rack dress I bought and paid for myself. I spent a whopping $35 and I loved that dress. I had to add some two inch eyelet lace to the hem to make it long enough and when it wasn't possible to have our wedding outdoors, my mother had a long sleeved voile blouse made for me to wear with it, to make it church appropriate.

Mr. Honey wore a white Levi suit and a red velvet bow tie with a wildly red shirt that had peacocks on it, and tan platform shoes. We thought we were really stylin' back in 1973!

My father was not in my life at the time, so I walked down the isle with my very happy groom. We made up our own vows and we considered ourselves to be traditionally untraditional.

Our wedding knot was tied to last and thirty seven years later I still adore Mr. Honey and he still adores me.

For a girl who didn't date anyone for more than three weeks I think I did alright!

Happy Year of the Tiger!

February 14th marks the year of the Tiger. It's the Chinese New Year. Mr. Honey was born during the year of the tiger. People born in the year of the tiger are advised to keep their tempers in check and not to argue over trivial matters. Good advise don't ya think?

Sweet Sherree's Sweets

My sister in-law lost her job a few months ago, but that hasn't slowed her down. She has started up a little business making almond toffee and espresso truffles. I took this basket of her goodies to work and was sold out in 24 hours! These delightful sweets are as beautifully packaged as they are delicious.

A Beautiful Cake

I just had to put a picture of my niece's 25Th birthday cake on my blog, because she is a self taught baker. I think this cake is fabulous don't you? I just can't believe she's already 25. Where or where do the years go?

Kitchen Chinese

Mr. Honey is out of town and I actually have had some time to read. This rainy day weekend has been the perfect weekend to do some reading just for fun. My book of choice is Kitchen Chinese by Ann Mah.

Right after I started blogging I came across Ann Mah's blog. Ann is a freelance journalist based in Paris. Ann's blog is all about life in Paris, the restaurants, the food, the ambiance, and French life in general. I have thoroughly enjoyed her blog, so I'm so thrilled to introduce her to all my blogging friends!

Ann's book, Kitchen Chinese, has been published by Harper Collins and released this month, just in time for the Chinese New Year. Ann will be on tour in the U.S. promoting her book this month.

I am so sad that I will not get to meet her in person. She will be in Florida right before I get there and then in California right before I get back. I'm hoping my daughter who lives in San Francisco will be able to attend her book signing, while I'm in Florida attending my brother in-laws wedding.
